Announcement: Advances in Architectural Geometry (AAG) symposium 2016
The National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication is pleased to announce the next Advances in Architectural Geometry (AAG) symposium, which will take place at the ETH Zurich on September 9-13, 2016.
The NCCR Digital Fabrication, with the full support of the Department of Architecture and the ETH Zurich will host the AAG 2016 conference. The conference chairs will be Profs Fabio Gramazio and Matthias Kohler.
The AAG conferences features both theoretical and practical elaborations of geometry and design with a clear focus on architectural development. AAG involves architects, engineers, mathematicians, software designers and contractors, with the aim of connecting researchers with practice and industry. AAG has become a reference in the professional field and is supported by the direct participation of many renowned architectural design and engineering offices along with international academic research groups. The interdisciplinary nature of the AAG community and the focus on architecture and technology make it an ideal and complimentary partner for the NCCR Digital Fabrication.
The symposium will begin with the AAG workshops at the ETH Zurich on the weekend of September 9-11. The AAG conference will take place on September 12 and 13. Detailed schedule will be announced early September. A call for papers, posters and workshop proposal was made in Fall 2015 and submission system is open until April 8 for full papers and workshop proposals, and June 3 (RE-EXTENDED DEADLINE!) for research posters.
AAG 2016 conference Keynote Speakers include Lord Norman Foster and Francis Aish, Werner Sobek, Erik Demaine and Urs Roth.
